The PWAA Technical Quality Engineer will provide support to the Pratt & Whitney AutoAir Quality organization relative to improvement of the business’s Quality signature as well as providing Quality interface to the shop. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.
Major job responsibilities are include (while not limited to):
- Use technical skillset to drive quality improvements for the manufacturing process.
- Leverage existing resources/tools such as Process Certification, Root cause analysis, statistical analysis to drive improvements on the shop floor
Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams.
Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives in the shop in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time.
Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components.
- Support Manufacturing Corrective Action Board (MCAB) reviews.
Education Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering, Technical, and Quality)
Work Experience Requirements:
3+ years Must be highly motivated and self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and levant Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality position
pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities.
Must be able to demonstrate ability and willingness to own quality performance metrics and drive the world class quality culture.
Must be able to request data from part prints/specifications, and then process that data into meaningful information on process capability.
Must have excellent Organizational Skills and ability to work projects independently.
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization.
Computer skills- Proficiency in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project.
Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience a plus.
Experience with SAP and other IT Quality system a plus.
Understanding of ASQR-01 / AS910
