Staff Engineer, Structural Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for making moderate improvements of processes, systems or products to reduce QN (Quality Notifications) volume.
  • Perform analyses of QN’s.
  • Provide documentation of analyses results and recommendations.
  • May manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility.
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight.
  • May provide input or guidance to lower-level professionals with tasks and assignments.
  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own department.
  • May have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)
  • Works to influence parties within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices and procedures.
  • This job will be remote/hybrid in the state of CT.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • Static and vibrational analysis. 
  • Finite element analysis experience.
  • Perform strength and life analyses.
  • US citizenship will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in a structural field and minimum 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in fracture mechanics and NASGRO or equivalent tool is a plus.
  • Practical to substantial knowledge of UTC projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
