The Power Thermal Management Systems (PTMS) Discipline, which is part of EDSI CDSA, is seeking two Power Thermal Management Systems Engineers to be a part of our world-class systems engineering team. This role is for PTMS Specialists, who will support one or more PTMS IPTs to architect, model, develop and integrate state-of-the-art power thermal management systems with propulsion systems and aircraft.

This job requires employee to work on-site at the PW facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Architecting power and thermal management systems to meet government and airframe requirements

  • Modeling power and thermal management systems throughout product lifecycle

  • Defining interfaces between engine, airframe and PTMS

  • Defining subsystem and component requirements for module centers and suppliers, as well as requirement verification criteria and plans

  • Developing, executing and maintaining system and component steady-state and dynamic models

  • Performing subsystem and part analyses including pressure drop; heat exchanger sizing; DMU installation and fit checks; reliability, maintainability and safety assessments

  • Coordinating CFD analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • 3+ years of engineering experience or 1+ years with an advanced degree

  • US Citizen         

  • Active US DoD security clearance of SECRET or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • Experience with Matlab, Simulink, MS Office

  • Effective Communication Skills (verbal/written); able to work effectively on teams

  • Experience with Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) or Dynamic Modeling Laboratory (Dymola) or other turbomachinery simulations

  • Experience with one or more of the following engine subsystems: bleed air systems, buffer air systems, lubrication systems, fuel systems, control systems, horsepower extraction

  • Experience with air cycle systems or vapor cycle systems for thermal management

  • Experience with aircraft electrical power generation, transmission or storage

  • Experience with decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements

  • Experience generating requirement verification criteria and plans

  • Experience integrating subsystems with engines or aircraft

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

  • Desire for continuous learning and innovation
