The position of Director, Transactions – Group Strategy & Development at Pratt & Whitney (P&W) is charged with managing a portfolio of transactions through a gated M&A process and lead a team of corporate development professionals. In addition to M&A transaction execution, the person in this position will have a lead role in crafting inorganic growth strategy for Pratt & Whitney.

The position reports into Vice President, Group Strategy & Development at P&W. The incumbent in this role will work with stakeholders from various business units and functions across P&W to coordinate and lead M&A transactions steps: ensuring organizational strategic alignment; target identification and evaluation; development of a business case / valuation; management of the due diligence process; agreement negotiations; initial transition (integration / separation) planning; corporate approval submissions; and preparation of briefing materials for internal and external audiences. This role requires the ability to routinely report out to the P&W President and other senior stakeholders inside the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree
  • 12+ years of in-depth M&A experience with excellent quantitative skills or 10+ years with an advance degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid academic background with a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and an MBA are preferred attributes.
  • A CFA charter holding is a helpful attribute for this position.    
  • Capable of juggling multiple transactions at the same time and working effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
  • The successful candidate would have previous experience leading transactions as an M&A investment banker or as corporate development professional within a Fortune 100 organization.
