The Hot Section Module Center – North (HSMC) delivers highly technical products to the Engine Centers and Spares Organizations.

We are looking for a talented and energetic Contract Coordinator at our East Hartford, CT facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with Long Term Contractors:

  • Creating work schedules to assure HSMC-N MTS plan is integrated with internal and external facility services providers.
  • Coordinate Manufacturing Cell transformations by moving existing equipment and installing newly acquired capital equipment.
  • Audit coolant quality and life cycle by sampling/testing, maintaining coolant system hardware and oversight of DCR activities by contractors.
  • Track maintenance program for dust and mist collectors, develop schedule for filter change outs and preventative maintenance activities. Evaluate filter life and replacement requirements. Coordinate machine downtime with contractors for filter changes.
  • Interpret performance of water treatment systems on washing systems to assure proper water quality.

Integrate Project Plan:

  • Extract critical path milestones from HSMC-N Restructuring Plan and compare progress of Facilities and Services Project Plan to overall HSMC-N Restructuring Plan. Generate purchase orders prior to contractors starting approved work onsite. Create pre-job reports to ensure clear communication of work is provided to approved contractors.
  • Create and initiate Pre-job reports for approved contractors planned to work onsite. Post at each job site.
  • Upon receipt of contractor quotes, use SAP to create SRM to generate purchase order to ensure contractor has valid method of payment prior to starting contract work.

Analyze Project Plan: 

  • Coordinate Manufacturing Cell transformations. 
  • Create the work schedules and initiate purchase orders for the rearrangement of machinery to reorganize the HSMC-N. Prepare a baseline plan. Update the plan weekly to include: current status, activities risks and issues.
  • Update to the baseline plan monthly in excel or MS Project. Includes risks and issues.
  • Create equipment move plan: Upon receipt of approved machine move plan, create action list, by discipline, to move equipment from current to future location. Attend and participate in restructuring meetings when invited.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 5+ years’ prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3+ years’ experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience.
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both hourly and salary, union and non-union.
  • Ability to encourage teamwork, participation, and individual accountability.
  • Ability to work independent without daily supervision.
  • Exemplary record of overcoming obstacles with limited resources in a fast pace manufacturing environment.
  • US Citizenship required due to Government Contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be able to show a demonstrated record of maintaining good logistic controls, emotional intelligence, and teaming abilities.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and plan workload effectively.
  • Strong familiarity with ACE tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and experience working in a Union Shop.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and react quickly to changes in priorities.
