Global Services Engineering (GSE), located in East Hartford Connecticut, is looking for a software/methods engineer with a love for web development. The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance software which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.


  • Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in AWS cloud environment
  • Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps
  • Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience
  • Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science w/2-5+ years’ experience OR MA/MS degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science w/0-3+ years’ experience
  • 1+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Java
  • US citizenship is required due to government program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud experience, especially AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience with ReactJS
  • Experience with ORMs such as Flask and SQLAlchemy
  • Strong developer who is comfortable learning new languages, libraries, and frameworks
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Good communication skills and working as a team player
  • Possesses excellent business judgement and professional maturity
  • Creative problem solver
