Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Business is at the core of PurePower® Geared TurboFan™ production with the manufacture of Compressor Airfoils and Materials and Forgings for Disks.

Your main responsibilities would include:

Evaluate Blueprints, Procedures and Processes to determine compliance with applicable requirements. Participate in MRL Activities that will ensure producibility and inspection techniques are implemented to prevent Escapes. Review and approval of PPAP data packages as required. Lead and communicate quality initiatives within the manufacturing cells. Utilize continuous improvement tools to support the cellular concept and participate in process improvements. Collaborate with the Production Team to meet business metrics as defined by Cells (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost). Demonstrate a commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. At least working knowledge of the Integrated Product Development (IPD) process per PW 1.5 L2. Assurance of key process controls for KPC/KC features defined by PWA Engineering. Identify where KPCM’s can be utilized with SPC controls to reduce SRR/quality defects

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline and 5 + years’ experience

Hands on experience in quality and inspection

Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ASQR-09.2, UTCQR-09.1, AS13004 and AS13006

Strong understanding of applying Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Strong understanding of applying Measurement Systems Analysis (e.g., Gage Capability, Bias and Linearity Studies).

Well versed in root cause corrective action (RCCA) techniques for conducting investigations and problem solving

Understanding of PPAP, FAI, Quality Systems Compliance

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Regulatory or audit experience

Experience with SAP and Solumina

Excellent Communication Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt Certified

Certified Quality Engineer

Project Management Proficiency
