Job Summary

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for projects that will improve the Quality Management System. This position will also be responsible for the Foreign Object Detection and Prevention Program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and execute improvement projects in support of an AS9110 Quality Management System.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation and execution of the Foreign Object Detection and Prevention Program.
  • Provides research and guidance for root cause analysis & problem solving in escape management procedures.
  • Develops corrective and / or preventive actions for systemic processes problems.
  • Performs Measurement Systems Analysis as needed to determine gage adequacy.
  • Identify systemic issues and develops quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation.

Education / Certifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum four years’ experience in Quality Engineering
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis experience, able to lead Root Cause Determination teams
  • ACE Associate qualification is desired
  • Nondestructive Testing Level 2 or 3 is desired
  • Turbine engine overhaul, repair, or related experience desired
  • PC Skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software preferred. (Specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint + Windows 97).
  • SAP Familiarization
  • AS9110 Audit Certification
  • Strong organizational and planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to relocate to Columbus, GA
