Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the electrical technical lead for the Facility Projects team, complete electrical designs for facilities projects independently & oversee engineering firms throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop/define project technical specifications in close coordination with project sponsors
  • Support peer engineers, including different disciplines, by providing electrical subject matter expertise for multiple facilities projects
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts via structured problem-solving methodologies, coordinate system shutdowns, conduct breaker coordination, & arc flash studies
  • Manage electrical load, capacity data, report out findings & proposed solutions to management
  • Drive operational excellence & maintenance adherence to assure system uptime
  • Identify system upgrades, lead scope, cost estimate, budget, & ROI analysis to justify capital allocation to management
  • Review/maintain maintenance logs/budgets, complete any & all documentation necessary to the completion of a task
  • Review/approve electrical design specifications, submittals, studies, drawings for power installations in production facility, central utility plant, & general office areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power/utilities system &/or controls systems with 3+ years of experience;:


Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years of engineering experience in an industrial setting
  • 2 years of project engineering experience required in an industrial setting
  • Detailed knowledge of facilities, systems, infrastructure within an industrial setting
  • Detailed knowledge of facilities low/medium voltage electrical distribution systems including transformers, MCC's, PDP's, generators, ATS', UPS', protective relaying, motors, motor starters, fuses, O/L, AC drives, grounding
  • Experience performing engineering tasks as an electrical engineer from concept design through construction document closeout, including development of construction drawings, specifications, calculations, & cost estimates
  • Good working knowledge of National Electrical Code, Building Code of Georgia, & standards
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 & NFPA 70E requirements & experience implementing/maintaining them
  • Performing load flow analysis, voltage drop & short circuit calculations, overcurrent device coordination, electrical utility forecasting for industrial facilities/office buildings
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of high, medium, & low voltage distribution systems
  • Familiarity with short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination, & arc flash analysis
  • Ability to apply electrical theory & related knowledge in the design, testing, troubleshooting of operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment & circuitry in a large manufacturing plant
  • Ability to read & interpret one-lines/control schematics
  • Interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact within a project team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in technical writing
  • Demonstrate the application of structured problem-solving methods & tools
  • Proven strong leadership, attention to detail, & organizational skills
  • Work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, & as part of a larger team
  • Communicate strategic & tactical concepts across a wide range of employees engineering peers to operational technicians to management
