Job Description

In this role the candidate will provide daily support & expertise to resolve technical and logistical issues involving the F119 engine operation on wing, on test cell, and in back shop maintenance activities. This position will primarily be supporting flight line operations to insure no sorties are missed due to engine issues. When issues do arise, trouble shoot and return the engine to service in a timely manner. Utilize P&W tools such as MERLIN, ADATS & TOD to assist in providing cohesive, accurate, and timely support.

Assist P&W Site Manager to ensure all objectives of the F119 Contractor Support Plan are met.

Support our customers on all maintenance levels of the F119 engine including: Limited Intermediate, P&W Full Intermediate, On-wing Organizational levels. This position has a high degree of customer interface from senior leadership and pilots to airmen.

Continue to support successful maturation and improvement of the F119 support systems such as AEFR, IMIS, and TOD.

P&W FSR will use self-initiative and judgment utilizing ACE tools to identify problems, conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes and coordinate solutions between P&W Customer Support Engineering, Logistics Program Management, the Air National Guard/USAF/AF Reserves, and associate contractors -Boeing and Lockheed Martin.   

Position will supervise up to 15 hourly employees. Responsible for tracking all recurring training, time charging/approval, approving expense reports, annual appraisals & managing positions.

Due to the remote location of this assignment (Anchorage, AK), you are expected

to work a minimum of a 2-3 year assignment.

Education / certifications:

B.A./B.S. in related engineering/technical field.  None technical degrees will be considered if the person has a technical background in a directly related field. 


Must be a United States citizen.  Must be able to obtain and maintain US DoD Secret security clearance.

3 - 5 years of professional experience in turbo-machinery propulsion systems project engineering, logistics management, propulsion control systems and troubleshooting, engine assembly planning, flight/development test engineering, or engine/aircraft maintenance.

The ability to work in cross-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision.

Experience applying strong interpersonal and communication skills with sensitivity to varying cultural norms to lead or facilitate teams to achieve successful results.

Process or manufacturing engineering experience, or hands-on assembly/disassembly experience on gas-turbine engines and operational experience in a Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul engine facility is a definite plus

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.

Must be willing to work any shift to support business needs to include participating in a shift rotation.  The person selected for this job will primarily work on 2nd Shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with F-22/F119 engine, its support systems, and use of TOD.

Familiarity with AFI 21-101, Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS), Comprehensive Engine Management & Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (CEMS/ IMDS) are a plus.

A working knowledge of Lynx, Shell scripting, VBA and MS ACCESS or a great willingness to learn are highly desirable.

Selected candidates are strongly encouraged to work a minimum of a 3-year assignment and must understand this prior to posting. Exception will be at the discretion of management.

This position is located at Elmendorf AFB AK.
