Responsible for executing the full software engineering life cycle under the Applications Development business area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to requirements development, design, implementation, verification, validation, and maintenance. Product classifications include Web sites, databases, and scientific applications. The software development life cycle covers the full range of activities from product conception to requirements development, implementation, verification, validation, delivery, and ongoing maintenance and upgrade support. Production of high-quality solutions developed under certified and emerging processes which are delivered on time and at or under budget is required.

Develops final software, ensuring high quality. Implements build/integration process. Develops, codes, tests and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software. Works with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems. Responds to customer suggestions for improvements/enhancements. Supports the understanding of programming technologies available to provide the most efficient means to implement the needed functionality. Drives advancement of technical methods. Establishes enterprise-wide standards for application integration. Plans for future platform requirements to support business needs. Coordinates release with product management. Drives agile processes and methodologies, including Development, Security and Operations (DEVSECOPS).

  • Supports full-cycle software development efforts for new and existent applications following standards policies and procedures.
  • Lead, as required, software implementation efforts for web based and desktop applications for both engineering and non-engineering programs.
  • Implement and maintain databases, web sites, or scientific or process applications.
  • Perform medium to high complexity data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on work area.
  • Established and productive professional contributor with theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area.
  • Works autonomously with limited supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments.
  • Sets objectives for own area of responsibility to meet the objectives or goals of projects and assignments.
  • Influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to peers, as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • English fluency (verbal and written), including good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work professionally with individuals and in teams
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of database structures
  • Demonstrate understanding of applications and their parts
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals and tools commonly used in the discipline: Software Development Life Cycle & Agile; Programming: Java, .NET; Database: MS SQL Server, Oracle; workflow tools: Visio, MyWorkflow, Sharepoint, Office: MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Three (3) years minimum of experience required.

Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
